Onyx is a protective Gemstone, used widely across many cultures for Courage and Stamina.

The Origin of Onyx was believed to have been from the Goddess Venus. The Ancients believed that she was sleeping one day by the banks of the Indus River and Cupid used his enchanted arrows to clip her nails. Her nail clippings fell into the river and because they were of heavenly origin, they sank to the bottom and metamorphosed into Onyx.
