We were excited to find these beautiful iridescent carved Mother of Pearl Vintage hearts and adorned them with stunning diamante crosses and hung from vintage Swarovski heart crystal jewels. The design was inspired by the work of the Renaissance Jewellers who loved to ornately decorate their pieces.
The name Mother of Pearl was given to the inner layer of a shell by Queen Elizabeth 1. The beautiful iridescent lustre of Mother of Pearl has been enchanting for over 5,000 years. In China the Mother of Pearl was held in high regard and taken to the temples as offerings to the gods
