Vintage carved lucite ivory diamante flowers from the 1930's with vintage glass beads, 1960's disco beads and golden flowered drops.
The story of Pygmalion appeared earliest in a Hellenistic work, Philostephanus and it is retold in Ovid’s Metamorphoses, where the king Pygmalion is a sculptor who falls in love with an ivory statue he had crafted with his own hands.
In answer to his prayers, the goddess Venus, brought the statue to life as Galatea and united the couple in marriage.
